As we move through February, our focus remains on thoughtful planning and preparation for the years ahead. From finalizing the academic calendar to advancing key construction and athletic projects, we continue to lay the foundation for a strong and dynamic future at Fairbanks.
2025-2026 School Calendar
The Board of Education has been presented with a proposed calendar for the 2025-2026 school year. Under this plan, students in grades 1-12 will begin classes on August 20, 2025, while kindergarten and preschool students will start on August 25, 2025. Final approval of the calendar is anticipated at the regular February Board of Education meeting.
Athletic & Exterior Planning
ODOT Traffic Study
Fairbanks continues to collaborate with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) on the development of a new campus access road—a critical project aimed at easing congestion along Route 38. This initiative reflects our commitment to improving safety and accessibility for our students, staff, and community.
Athletic Feasibility Study
The Board recently held a work session to review the results of our athletic feasibility study. This session provided valuable insight into potential upgrades and improvements. The next phase involves narrowing the scope and timeline to align with our budget and long-term planning goals.
Project Scheduling Overview
As we look ahead, several key projects are scheduled to begin over the next 18 months, ensuring that our facilities continue to support the needs of our students and community:
March 2025 – Construction of the new Transportation Office begins
Early 2025 – Renovations to the home football field bleachers commence
April 2025 – Construction of the new baseball facility begins
August 2025 – Reconfiguration of the softball complex begins
May 22, 2025 – Last day of school for students
May 26, 2025 – Major construction projects kick off across campus
As always, our goal is to ensure that these projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and with minimal disruption to student learning and activities.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement as we move forward with these important initiatives. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Go Panthers!
