Good morning Fairbanks Families and Community Members,
This morning, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce released this yearās State Report Card. Our schools did incredibly well on these measurements. Fairbanks Local School District received a 5-Star Rating on this yearās report card. That is the highest rating issued by the state. You can check out Fairbanksā Report Card here: State Report Card
There are some specific items that we should all be very proud of. Some highlights are:
Our Performance Index (Student Achievement) has grown each of the last five years - 87.8 (ā20), 93.5 (ā21), 95.8 (ā22), 98.1 (ā23), and 99.1 (ā24). This yearās is the highest we have seen in Fairbanks Local Schools!
Fairbanks High School has a 98.0% 4-year graduation rate.
Fairbanks Local Schools received 5-Star Ratings in Achievement, Gap Closing, Graduation, and Early Literacy. The district improved to a 4-Star Rating in Progress from last yearās report card.
Positive results in anything we do individually or collectively is a product of hard work, measuring progress, and celebrating small wins. Our students, teachers, principals, and support staff work hard to demonstrate growth meeting the expectations we set across Fairbanks Local Schools. Our families set high expectations and work as partners in their childās education. This environment allows for continuous improvement across Fairbanks. I am so proud of each student, teacher, and staff member in Fairbanks.
In Fairbanks, we also recognize the State Report Card is only one measurement and does not capture everything we do as a school district. For example, we have over 375 students in grades 7-12 participating in fall athletics or marching band. These activities teach valuable lessons outside of the classroom. Teaching staff across the district are engaged in professional development in literacy and authentic learning to personally connect learning to students. We have students serving in internships, attending career workshops, serving as peer mentors, and creating other experiences that enhance and extend their personal learning experience beyond school walls. Students are able to grow and ignite their imagination. You can see some of these highlights from last yearās āState of the Schoolsā video series, State of the Schools - 2024 and in our spring mailer, Measurements That Matter.
Congratulations to our students, staff, and community for showcasing to the rest of the state all of the things we already know about Fairbanks. In Fairbanks Local Schools we have āPride in Our Past, Passion in the Present, and are Preparing for the Futureā. We live this mission everyday. Our focus on the priorities in our school community translates to the results we see on state measurements. Well done everyone. Go Panthers!!
For Fairbanks,
Adham
